Dr Elizabeth Bukusi

Dr. Elizabeth Bukusi has been working at Kenya Medical Research Institute for the last twelve  years where she has been involved in many research projects related to the HIV issues. Her work has continued to make a tremendous impact to not only to those involved in the study but also to the community at large.

As a honorary lecturer at the University of Nairobi and at the same time the Principle investigator of the many studies she has been involved in, Dr. Bukusi has been able to mentor many students who have grown to be responsible men and women in the society.

Her dedication, commitment and hard work, has made it possible to touch several people as in many areas and especially those infected by the HIV virus. The Family Aids and Cares Services (FACES) program, which provides HIV/AIDS care and support to research subjects and their family member, is one program that has continued to expand its boundaries to reach the very interior areas in trying to help the community under this circumstance.

Dr. Bukusi has not shied away from taking more and even challenging responsibility in order to give her services as need be.
